Capable smartphones can be connected with Androird Auto or Apple CarPlay on all 4.0 Generation head units.
Android Auto has simplified their interface, increased touch targets in size, and made voice commands easier to keep distractions minimized and help you stay focused on the road ahead. Answer and send text messages via voice control, have your favorite playlists on screen, or get directions with available apps.
Apple Car Play has an easy connection. Just plug in your iPhone cord to the USB port in the front seat and within seconds, your iPhone will be mirrored on the screen ahead. Get directions, make calls, listen to music and use voice commands to respond to messages.
With STARLINK Generation 4.0, owners with connected Apple CarPlay or Android Auto can utilize their Pandora stations to listen to great playlists and recommendations. Pandora in-vehicle technology can be controlled via voice-commands and/or with steering wheel and on screen controls.
SiriusXM is commercial-free music which provides stations for every genre, live play-by-play sports broadcasting, news and talk shows, 24/7! With the purchase of your new SiriusXM capable vehicle, you enjoy complimentary over 175 channels as part of a four-month trial to the All Access Package!

Standard on 2020 model year Legacy base and Outback base models, owners enjoy dual LCD multi-touch screens paired with 4 speakers throughout the cabin. The 7.0-inch dual screens have voice-activated controls available to adjust audio and HVAC systems. Audio features include AM/FM stereo HD Radio, Bluetooth audio streaming connectivity, Bluetooth® hands-free phone connectivity, Bluetooth hands-free SMS text messaging capability, iPod® control capability, SiriusXM® All Access Radio 4-month free trial (subscription required after free trial period). CD Player with MP3/WMA/CRR/RW file capability optional accessory.
Owners with dual 7.0-inch Multimedia System are also able to connect their capable smartphone to Andriod Auto or Apple CarPlay.
STARLINK® 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus System
Standard on 2020 model year Legacy Premium, Legacy Sport, Legacy Limited, Outback Premium, Outback Limited, and Outback Onyx Edition XT, the Multimedia Plus System includes a high-resolution, 11.6-inch multi-touch gesture display screen. Road trip sing-a-longs are great with the included Harman Kardon® 576-watt equivalent amplifier and premium 12 speaker systems on Limited models. Legacy and Outback Premium models, Sport models, and the Outback Onyx Edition XT include 6 speakers through cabin.

This system comes standard on the 2020 Outback Touring, Legacy Touring, and Outback Touring XT. 2020 model year Legacy Premium, Legacy Sport, Legacy Limited, Outback Premium, Outback Limited and Outback Onyx Edition XT have available upgrade package for this system. Be sure to check with your sales person before purchasing. This system cannot be upgraded from no-navigation to a navigation able unit aftermarket.
GPS Navigation in unit is provided through TomTom with over-the-air (OTA) updates available to save you time!
All 2020 year Outback and Legacy Limited, Limited XT, Touring and Touring XT models include Harman Kardon® 576-watt equivalent amplifier and premium 12 speaker systems. 2020 Outback and Legacy models that include optional navigation system are standard with 6 speakers.
