Cross Creek Subaru Supports Local Classrooms Through Subaru Loves Learning®

August 5th, 2026 by

As the new school year approaches, many teachers face a familiar challenge: finding the resources their students need to succeed. Subaru of America recently announced that its Subaru Loves Learning initiative has reached a major milestone — supporting more than 1 million students in high-needs schools nationwide through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.

Now in its sixth year as the largest corporate supporter of AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and more than 630 retailers across the country are providing teachers with funding to purchase essential classroom supplies and high-quality resources. The need is real. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 93% of teachers have students whose families cannot afford school supplies. As a result, the average U.S. teacher spends $895 of their own money each year on classroom materials — a figure that has risen nearly 50% since 2015.

“Students and teachers in high-needs schools deserve access to the classroom resources they need to succeed, and our retailers continue to go above and beyond on their behalf in support of Subaru Loves Learning,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America. “As part of our efforts to deliver on the Subaru Love Promise, we are honored to have reached an incredible milestone of more than 1 million students over six years of partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, helping classrooms in the communities we serve.”

Many participating retailers also donate curated school supply kits filled with teachers’ most-requested materials, while others provide flexible funding for special classroom projects. Subaru Gear is adding extra support by donating $1 to AdoptAClassroom.org for every “Education” Badge of Ownership ordered (up to $2,000 total) during August 2026.

Local Impact: Cross Creek Subaru and Walker-Spivey Elementary

Here in Fayetteville, Cross Creek Subaru is proud to put the Subaru Loves Learning commitment into action close to home. This year, the dealership has teamed up with Walker-Spivey Elementary School to help teachers and students get the classroom supplies and resources they need for a strong start to the school year.

Walker-Spivey Elementary serves a high percentage of students from economically disadvantaged households. Support like this helps ease the financial burden on educators who often dig into their own pockets and gives kids the tools that make learning more engaging and effective.

At Cross Creek Subaru, being “More Than a Car Company” means investing in the community we serve. Whether it’s helping stock classrooms at Walker-Spivey or supporting other local education efforts, we believe every student deserves the chance to succeed.

We’re honored to join Subaru retailers nationwide in this work and grateful for the opportunity to make a difference for teachers and students right here in Cumberland County. Here’s to a successful school year for the Panthers at Walker-Spivey — and for classrooms across the country.
